Antibiotic Benzathine Penicillin

This medicine is used for treating bacterial infections. It interferes with the formation of the bacteria and its cell wall while it is growing. This further weakens the bacteria cell and kills it.

Composition of Benzathine Penicillin:

The medicine comprisesof benzathine and procaine salts. It is available in the form of injection. It occurs as a white, crystalline powder. It is slightly dissoluble in water and is sparingly dissoluble in alcohol.

Contraindications of Benzathine Penicillin:

A patient should not use this medicine if they are allergic to it or to any other inactive ingredient of this medicine. In case you are taking a tetracycline antibiotic, do not use this medicine.
